Spotting on day 14

I am almost 45 and my periods have been going haywire for 2 years with cycles ranging from 13 days to 34. I am currently on day 14 this month and I’ve experienced some light bloody discharge. Been to my gp who has said to see what happens over next 3 months. In the last 3 months I went on mini pill and then came off it after 6 weeks as it just does not agree with me. He said it’s unlikely I’m perimenopausal but he was about 23 years old and a male. Anyone with any experience?

I started spotting for a good week before my period the month I turned 40
i also went on the mini pill and although it’s a pain in the arse until it settles down I now only bleed once a month without the spotting

So annoying isn’t it

@chiccuI am 39. Experienced exactly the same as you. Went to gp. Put on mini pill. Did not agree with me at all and gave me all sorts of side effects. I’ve now had a mirena for 7 months and that also doesn’t agree with me and I’m having that out. I’ve seen a private hormone specialist, have been put on HRT and am changing the coil to body identical progesterone. I would push for a scan if you haven’t had one - I had one when I had disrupted bleeding. And when anything is ruled out, I would try and see a menopause specialist. You are absolutely not too young!
