Ermm not sure really where to turn. I’m going to make an appointment with my GP but until I can get one does anyone know what this could be? It’s not sore, but it’s hard and I’m sure it’s got bigger recently. Just appeared out of no where. I’d say it’s the size of a pea and I’ve had it a couple of months (that I’ve noticed)

My guess is Bartholin's gland cyst (I've had several and usually deal with them myself ) hot flannel /piece of gauze as a compress. Usually disperses the pus and allows it to rupture and drain. They're usually found on the inside of the labia minora. You can also get skenes gland cysts which are similar but slightly different location. Have a Google - does it sound like the lump you see ?

They can be painful if they get very big and if it gets really quite large it may need draining. Salt baths may help too.

Once you get one, you can be prone to it happening again. They're harmless though. More annoying and a bit sore.

Thank you - it does sound like it could be either of these. Silly question but hot flannel and compress how often do you do this and expect to see improvement please? I’ll give it a go and hope it helps. It’s been worrying me the last few days :( do you have any idea what causes them? So frustrating that’s for sure!

thank you for your help xx

So I'd have a shallow bathe in salty warm water for 20mins then boil the kettle and put some cotton wool (or similar) in it , wait for it to cool slightly and then hold it against the cyst for 5 minutes or so. It may help to disperse the pus and erupt the cyst. I'm naughty and have squeezed mine , but I wouldn't recommend doing that : it can be you at risk of infection or causing trauma to delicate skin. If the compress doesn't work , see it through to the GP appointment and wait for their opinion.

It can be caused by birth Injuries (which I had ) makes you more prone.
But essentially it's just blocked up glands that clog up. That's my understanding of it. They're fairly common.

Bartholomew's cysts are lumpy and painful, these look like HPV warts
