Infection after Hysteroscopy

I had a Hysteroscopy last month for post menopausal bleeding (just a few spots tbh). Bled quite a lot after then it gradually tailed off.

Two weeks after it I started having stomach cramps, low grade fever and a lot of bleeding. The dr said it was probably an infection and prescribed two lots of high dose antibiotics for 14 days.

It was a bit of an ordeal taking them (lots of stomach issues) but the bleeding and cramps went and finally finished them Tuesday morning hooray! Yesterday morning the bleeding started again :(

Back to gp again today, and I’ve got another 14 days of the antibiotics again as they think the infection hasn’t cleared.

Has this happened to anyone else? I’m at my wits end with it. Where is all the blood coming from, supposedly my womb is atrophied for heavens sake!!

Did they take a swab, or did they just give you a prescription?

Took swabs which were clear but last dr said there could still be an infection inside my uterus.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had issues. I’ve had 2 hysteroscopies in the last 3 years and had no problem afterwards, other than some light bleeding. I had polyps removed and biopsies both times. It sounds like you’ve been incredibly unlucky. I hope you’re better soon.
