Breast dent

First time posting here. So I noticed a dent in my right breast underneath where it meets my ribs. Only visible when I lift my arms behind my head. Not visible on laying down or raising my arms entirely above my head. Also looks like there is a tiny scar or stretch mark or something where the little dent is.

I regularly examine my breasts and have only just noticed this.

i weight train a lot and wonder if this is due to increased muscle/fat loss

ive seen the GP who could see the dent but couldn’t feel anything lumps. Told me to just keep an eye on it and come back if it changes.

To be clear the dent is where the breast meets the ribs if you drew a line straight down from the nipple to the ribs it’s there, so right at the very very edge of the breast.

im a giant ball of anxiety. I’ve had three ultrasounds on the same breast for lumps in the past (all fine). Has anyone had similar?

I don’t know if I should just relax like the GP said or go for a private ultrasound

I would say if it’s causing you big anxiety and you can afford it privately then it’s worth doing for peace of mind.
Just to add though it’s likely nothing to be concerned about

Thanks. I’ve got an appointment today with a private GP to see what they say.

anxiety is the worst!!

Good luck xx try not to worry too much
easy for me to say though but I was referred to the breast clinic years ago for 2 lumps which weren’t anything to worry about

Thanks ☺️

I’ve actually been three times for lumps that have all been absolutely fine but never a dent. It’s a really odd one as it’s so so close to the edge of the breast that it could almost be the ribs. GP said still counts as breast tissue.

got a referral to private breast clinic so just in that joyus waiting period trying not to look at it every 5 seconds willing it to disappear

@AmusedPombear how did you get on?

AmusedPombear · 10/07/2025 14:54

I’ve got a private ultrasound for next week. I have noticed a not disilimar one on the other side just not quite as obvious but the other boob is bigger so perhaps that’s why.

calming down a little

Ah I see well it’s very likely nothing bad but the scan will give you peace of mind 💐
