Anterior Prolapse Repair Op - sh*tting myself

Honeysucklelane · 07/07/2025 16:55

Not literally….which is the whole problem.

I’ve been on the waiting list 18 months now and been given a date in a couple of weeks to have the repair op.

Having been warned by the doctor it’s a really painful thing to recover from I am panicking. I hate being ill / in pain as it is.

I also worry about things like dying (and leaving my children without a mother) or ending up with worse problems (unable to have sex etc) just for the sake of fixing this issue.

Hold on….I am the OP and it wasn’t me who asked about the size / angle thing, I’ve only just seen that now.

I know. It’s two posters who’ve made that mistake.

There’s been absolutely nothing wrong with anything you’ve written, you’ve even thanked people for their input, and I’m sorry you’ve been dragged into this.

Honeysucklelane

can I PM you?

EssentialDecluttering · 21/07/2025 18:51

I do stand by my comment even if it referenced the wrong poster.

@Honeysucklelane I am a little concerned that if you postpone the surgery it could be ages till
you get another date, is there any chance of delaying the holiday a bit instead?

I was offered a February date but had just started a new job and couldn’t take 4-6 weeks off.

Then offered 22nd July just over a week ago, but I was away last week and couldn’t go to the pre-op assessment so they had to cancel.

Now got 31st, but going away on 16th August.

Oh what a pain, but it sounds as though cancellations probably come up fairly regularly. You might be ok on the holiday if you don't drive and take it really easy. But it might not be much fun.

Sorry OP that confusion was my fault. I have apologised in the thread already.

The following are also an example of good manners

I don’t understand what you mean. Can you explain please

what does this mean please

Jeez I had no idea about this - just what does it mean

Would you mind elaborating on this please

How can I find out more about this please

Bad manners are -

What do you mean size and angle? In which way?
Perhaps though, the poster just goes go through life without any idea whatsoever of how to approach questions of an intimate nature without sounding at best like a ram raid.

WOW!!….just WOW!!

I had two anterior repairs done many years ago. One when I was 25 and another when I was 30. They were the result of damage from child births..
Very unusual. So as I am 84 now you can imagine things are likely to be different and improved. However, I do remember the ops and the only significant problems were the no lifting for several weeks. In fact I was sent to convalescent home as the surgeon didn’t trust me not to lift my one year old and my three year old. He said if I didn’t go he would have to refuse permission for my discharge. So I had been in hospital for 3 weeks and convalescence for a further two.Unbelievable I know but that was how it was then. Even then I had to be very careful. It’s the lifting that you don’t want to do. So no lifting suitcases or pulling them along. Just plenty of rest and enjoy doing nothing but enjoy yourself.

I think what I’ve said is self explanatory but if not then Google is your friend.

And just a wee bit of advice - if you ever need to ask someone to elaborate on a post, especially one covering a subject like this, remembering your manners when asking would help you come across better than you have.

@Weepixie
maybe it’s the stick up your arse that has cause the angle and size changes rather than your surgery!

Your post was anything BUT clear, complete with wrong word and vague explanation. And then your “wee bit of advice” was far more rude than the “blunt” question I had asked- which I didn’t think was rude rather just a brief question asking you to expand on how you felt things had changed internally. If you didn’t want questioned on this then why even comment in that nature?

Genuinely baffled by your response to my question, and I’m guessing I’m not going to get any further explanation about how your vagina has actually changed post-op. Contrary to your assumption google is not really appropriate for this situation… but thanks… 🙏🏻

Yup. I’d say unclench, but maybe you can’t. I wouldn’t know as you never did answer the question.

Have you ever thought of calling yourself Weegremlin? You’re a nasty piece of work.

I had this done in December and it was pain free. I didn’t even take the panadol offered afterwards and within a couple of hours of going back to my room I was up, showered, changed into fresh clothes and waiting for my visitors.

One thing I will say though is that the size of my vagina has definitely changed as has the angle and at 67 it’s big that much of a side effect to live with but if I was younger and way more sexually active I think it could be impactful on a relationship.

But pain following surgery - no, I had none.

I am 55 and am worried about having this operation as what i believe i have been told is right is that it could leave my vagina either too loose or even too tight because of your own skins elasticity and how much it gets stretched and stitched up during the surgery. Which then can affect your sex life. I know it’s a sensitive subject but if you don’t mind replying weepixie is this what you have experienced. thank you
