Pcos and period

Recently diagnosed with pcos after years of irregular bleeding and a miscarriage. Prescribed provera to bring period on every 3 month and took last in April was due to start it again on the 1st of July but my period started then. Week later it’s still very heavy passing clots but no cramp, is this normal only used to 5 day periods and always crippled with cramp TIA

If you haven't had a period for three months, I'd say a heavy & clunky bleed is to be expected. I had PCOS, untreated, and would be like a WW1 battlefield for ten days to two weeks when a period deigned to arrive.

I understand Provera thins the endometrium, but don't know if you should expect it still to be having an effect. I think a week's too early to worry: lots of women have week-long periods as standard. Ask your doctor if it's still going on by the end of this week. And keep your iron levels up!
