Yes.

Its a wee infection, you should see your midwife or doctor for proper advice, this happened to me after my section and I was given external thrush cream that cleared it up in a day or 2, but definitely speak to your GP or midwife first

Hi OP,

Huge congratulations to you on the birth of your baby! Just a quick note to say we’ve moved this over to our Women’s health board as we think it’s a better fit and you’ll be able to get some helpful responses here.

You shouldn’t really need to ask if this is truly the case.
See a doctor asap.

Congrats on the baby x

Yes, it needs to be checked. They might do a swab of it and give you antibiotics x

littleweedandherflowers · 07/07/2025 12:53

Thank goodness you are being seen quickly! Clearing a room from the stench doesn't sound good. Hope it's an easy fix, please let us know how you get on. (I've had 2 sections plus a hysterectomy and luckily haven't had this issue.)

littleweedandherflowers · 07/07/2025 16:18

It is an infection, oral antibiotics and cream! X

baby is 3 weeks old in that time I’ve had mastitis, and infection in my womb and now this infection ! Partner is being a knob and fucking off to football this evening because “ can’t he just have 2 hours to himself “ x

Oh no @littleweedandherflowers ! This is a big problem, I'm so sorry. Do you have any other support? Try to look after yourself, get support and maybe post on Relationships if looking for help. You're in a tough situation. Take care of yourself and little one.

Your partner is indeed being a knob. Is this usual or the stress of being a new father? (Not that that's an excuse when you are going through so much worse.)

littleweedandherflowers · 07/07/2025 18:57

I do have other support but he moans about other support being here and helping, he moans if things are untidy he moans just about everything ! I’ve asked him to stay home tonight I’m absolutely exhausted but no as usual football is more important ! I can’t even lift my two year old who is really struggling with jealously of the new baby at the moment so having him home to distract Whilst I feed etc but he is saying that can’t he have 2 hours to himself !
