HPV 3 years running and borderline changes

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has experienced similar.

2022 smear-HPV positive.
2024 smear (delayed due to pregnancy)- HPV positive.
2025 smear-HPV positive and borderline changes.

I’ve just received the most recent results and been referred for a colposcopy. Quite concerned I’ve had the HPV for just under 3 years and now cell changes.

I do have irregular spotting, cramps and an unpleasant smell down there despite showering twice daily. BV and std tests have all came back negative. I’ve also got a large ovarian cyst so have been putting the spotting and cramps down to that. Just last week I was at the GP as I passed a 2p size chunk of tissue/clot. I can only describe it as feeling fleshy/rubbery. GP originally thought it might be a miscarriage as period was late but pregnancy test was negative.

Also if anyone could let me know how long you waited approximately for the colposcopy that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Don’t worry . The spotting etc is most likely unconnected. How old are you? I had spotting due to hormones and ended up going back on the pill to stop it. I’ve now been HPV + for at least 5 years and I just wish it would go away. My colposcopy appts have usually only been a few weeks wait.

Thanks for your reply @sameshizz !😊 I’m 27. I got my letter today it’s next week. Slightly worried as it’s so soon and they’ve referred me to an oncologist department in a different local authority rather than the local hospital where they routinely do them. 😫I’m very happy I don’t to wait too long though. Just want it over and done with!!
