Hi hope I’m on right thread has anyone gone through vaginal hysterectomy and repair of bowel and bladder? How long was your recovery? And did it go well?

I had that surgery. I was in hospital for 2 nights and had little pain. I was weak afterwards and able to do very little for the first 2 weeks but fairly back to normal indoors at 4 weeks. I had issues with constipation and needed laxatives. You cannot drive or do heavy work such as hoovering until 6 weeks.
Do you have plenty of help at home with a helpful partner or DM on call? I didn't and organised myself with easily available things for snacks. I was back to normal around 2 months but still got achy and tired if I overdid it. Heavy lifting is the worst thing to do as you risk another prolapse. I was over 60 so, if you are younger, you should recover faster.

Thanks for that I’m 58 so I’m finding myself tired but manageable and my husband is helping me but I have an infection now after 2 weeks but I’m sure I’ll be ok soon thanks can you use vaginal oestrogen? Or do you have to wait? Thanks

I cannot remember when I started using the vaginal oestrogen - I think it was around one month post surgery. I have issues with incontinence if I don't use it regularly.
