For a few weeks now, I have had terribly swollen lower legs and ankles.
Health stats
- quite a a bit overweight, but very active (walk / run at least twice a week, including a two hour walk, sometimes swimming or strengths training)
- desk job
- hypothyroidism (take a tablet for this a day) and also have HRT patches
- diet: not great, but also not awful. Don't ever put extra salt on food other than chips. Have fallen into the full sugar coke trap since it has got warmer, but normally no more than a can a day
Beginning of the year I felt the best I had for a long time and now I just feel a bit sluggish and elephant-like. Any advice? Have bought diuretics but not sure whether I should start taking them in the heat. Pharmacist has said I should see GP. Is there anything else I can do? Compression stockings? Not great in the heat next week....
