NI breast clinic

Hoping for some advice/words of wisdom here. I live in NI, found a lump on my breast 3 weeks ago and went to GP next day who referred me to the Breast clinic as red flag referral. I know the target is a 2 week wait but all I have had so far is a text message confirming I am on the waiting list. Just wondering if anyone on here has been seen recently at the clinic and roughly how long it took for an appointment to come through. I have booked a private appointment but it’s not until end of the month (first available which tells a tale in itself!) Appreciate any responses.

What clinic/hospital trust is it OP? I am in a Northern Trust area and I had a screening mammogram at the end of May, got the recall letter four days ago and was seen yesterday. The delay in your case is shocking. Can you ring the breast clinic directly? The session I was at today was not overly busy so unless you are Belfast Trust (I'd imagine they are the busiest) I don't understand why. I really do feel for you, the anxiety is horrible and I don't know what state I would have been in, waiting three weeks. I hope all goes well for you when you are seen.

Are you southern trust OP. I've seen on a local fb page that red flag can be up to an 8-9 week wait. I suggest ringing switch board and asking to be put through tp appointments for red flag breast clinic, ask how long the wait is and asked to be put on cancellation list. Hope all is OK, this wait is not OK

Thank you so much for replying, I am Southern Trust but advised GP I was willing to go to any clinic regionally and on the text I got it acknowledged that I was on for any hospital. I will ring today, I just really thought by now I would have at least a date to work towards and stop me letting my mind run away altogether! Thanks again for taking the time, just wanted to gauge if this was the norm at the minute.
