I’m on my third of these, all in the same eye. I’m slowly going blind n that eye. Each time I’m told it’s probably an isolated incident and shouldn’t recur but here we are.

The trouble is, no one seems interested. The eye hospital are seeing me again on Thursday but they will refer me back to the GP. The GP talks about not smoking, I don’t smoke, checking for diabetes, I haven’t got diabetes and high blood pressure, which I haven’t got. They then shrug and say it shouldn’t happen again. Well I has and I want to know why and what I can do to stop it.

Help what do I say to get help? Thanks.

So sorry to hear this. I have had one of these. Mine was caused by undiagnosed high blood pressure. I was treated at our local teaching hospital with Lucentis injections (also used for one type of macular degeneration). Three injections spaced a month apart put my sight back to normal. If I were you, I would do a search to see where you can get this treatment. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks for replying. It’s stopping it happening that I need help with. The treatment you had is for once the damage has been done.
