Coil lost long wait

Sorry bit of a rant but feeling hopeless, I have multiple medical conditions but things have been stable for a while now and my specialist said this would be a good time for me to try for a baby as I have been wanting to for ages but with lupus flares haven’t been possible until now, however I went to get my coil removed and they couldn’t find the strings, had a ultrasound which again had to wait 8 weeks for and now have to go to hospital for an operation to remove it but they said it could be a 2 year wait as there is a long waiting list … literally crying …

Are you able to go private? Hopefully it would be able to happen much more quickly.

Could you go through a sexual health clinic and do you really need to have an op?
I wanted my coil removing and replacing but my GP no longer does it and told me to go to sexual health clinic. They couldn't find it so referred me for a scan. Scan shows it's moved so fingers crossed their 'expert' is going to do it on Monday in the clinic.
Might be something worth looking into.

Same as @katscamel mine is lost and I'm booked with the sexual health clinic for removal. Radiographer who did my ultrasound scan said it was really common. GP surgery and gynae were useless. Though she did say mine was in the right place and not embedded or similar, which I guess might need an op. Did they mention that?

Yup, welcome to women’s gynae health - my bladder is hanging out of my cabins aged 49 after two children - I’m facing similar if not longer. I’m disabled by it - currently off work hoping my employer will hang out for ‘medicine to think I’m worth treating.
