I'm post menopausal and have had odd bleeding problems which have been investigated. I've got 24 mm womb lining. A few weeks ago had a polyp and fibroid removed and a mirena inserted. Light bleeding after. Eventually asked GP for tranexamic acid to stop it(this has worked before)but after taking it a couple of days it has made my bleeding so much worse. Really heavy flow, blood clots and pain. Changing a heavy flow pad every couple of hours if not before. I've stopped the tranexamic acid. Is this my womb shedding the thick lining or something else? Incidentally going on holiday next Monday and I can't imagine how I'm going to cope in a swimming costume etc. When is it going to stop? I've got a GP appointment anyway on the day I go on holiday. Is there anything I can be given or get checked out?
