Not sure if anyone can help, but looking for any similar experiences or knowledge around the Microgynon pill. Have taken it for years since adolescence due to horrendously heavy periods (possible endometriosis). Had my first daughter in April 2023. Decided to go back on the Microgynon pill in March 2025 due to a holiday abroad in April and didn’t want to ruin my holiday with awful periods.
New way of taking the pill, so I can take 3 months back to back and then take a 4 day break. All working brilliantly, no periods etc, until I stupidly forgot to take my pill on Wednesday 14th May, but took it normally on the Thursday and Friday. Friday 16th started bleeding lightly. This continued on Saturday, so thought I would just take the 4 day natural break then.
Started retaking the pill on Tuesday 20th, but continued bleeding fairly heavily, but manageable until Friday 23rd, when I thought I finally finished. However, this weekend, I’ve had some brown spotting, then when I thought I’d finished again, I had a cm clot come out today, with more pink/brown spotting.
Now I’m worried that there’s something - I’ve never experienced this before (albeit it is the first time I’ve taken 3 packs back to back).
I guess I’m just looking for reassurance or reasoning from anyone who’s been through similar? Can anyone please advise?
