Mirena coil to prevent uterine polyps?

Hi everyone.

I am a 29 year old female and last March I had a small (<1cm) endometrial polyp removed and it was benign. I fell pregnant in May but due to personal circumstances had a TOP. Me and my partner absolutely want children but not for a couple years. I recently had a scan and I have ANOTHER polyp, slightly bigger this time. I’ve been referred back to Gynaecology for removal again. I’m currently not on any contraception, we are just using condoms. It’s been suggested by my GP that the Mirena coil may be a good idea to have in until I’m ready to try for a baby as it is known to reduce the chance of further polyps forming.

Im asking for advice - all I’ve read is horror stories about the coil! However I want to try it if it will stop these bloody polyps growing back.
