Menopause resources - not wanting to go to GP

Hello MN,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any where else to go for possible HRT treatment other than GP?
Can a Pharmacist prescribe or can I go to an urgent care walk in centre (seems drastic)?
I can’t afford to go private but also don’t want to go to my GP.
I’ve been on the nhs website & tried registering on menopausematters to ask on their forum but it’s not letting me register. I can’t find any other help.
Thank you 🙂

Whilst my initial chat about hrt was with my doctor, every appointment and chat since I started using it has been with the nurse at the surgery. Could you ask to see the nurse at your local surgery?

In short no. Pharmacists cannot prescribe this and there are no central drop in clinics like GUM.

It's GP or bust I'm afraid. Do yours use LIVI? See a different GP that way.

Look at changing surgeries if you're not getting on with them.

Thank you for the replies. I’ll try the doctor if it’s only the initial appointment (if he can be bothered to refer me to the nurse and/or for treatment). We don’t have LIVI so I know which doctor I will be stuck seeing.

II’m in a semi rural location so charging GP isn’t an option, they recently closed the one in the village next to us so now they need to commute to us.

Thank you both x
