Hello all,
I was wondering if a cut above my clitoris could be thrush. I get this repeatedly, it eventually heals and then about 12 days later it comes back. It’s sore and painful!
I also do not have a typical period, it lingers on- I am always on alert never know when I’ll see blood.
I am on the Benilexa coil, I feel this may be causing the constant spotting but dh is on the nhs waiting list for a vasectomy and I can’t go back on the pill. I’m also diabetic.
Is there anything that could cause this as a side effect? I’ve tried canesten cream, sudocrem, oils, eczema lotions, pessary. It’s really messing with my life but I feel daft going to the gp for thrush

That sounds like it might be Lichen sclerosis

Thank you so much for your reply. I’ll read up about that

It is not unreasonable to go to the gp. You have tried self treatment and it’s not working. Are your blood sugars stable? High bg can cause thrush as sugary urine provides an ideal growing environment.
When possible, try rinsing with a jug of water after having a wee. Better still if you have a bidet.
Hope you get sorted as it sounds miserable for you.

Please go to the GP. Ask for blood tests. Insist.

I have had a small fibroid I feel has gone which caused uti’s and now have a gammy foot and leg but my ladies troubles are gone. 💓I’m even back to wearing normal knickers.

Stopped hrt under a medic and very cautious to repick up use of internal blissel gel. (going to see if I can yellow card it but only took one dose before events took ahold)

The only thing I could hear was I got low white blood count on discharge round and the big mother flesh eating Necrotizing fasciitis was a query for 48 hours (so my folks did hear right.)

It might be a hormonal imbalance which could be helped by oestrogen cream. Ask your GP for 1% Estriol cream and see if that makes a difference. You can apply locally and/or internally. If you're approaching peri it could posdibly be the start of vaginal atrophy which oestrogen treatment will also help.

I did go to the GP today, she said it is thrush and you’re right, blood sugars aren’t stable. Said it needs to be on record that they’ve prescribed the pessary/cream and it’s recurred before they do anything else.
I am early 40’s too, so could be peri?
