Cyst on ovary operation

Hi guys. I had an operation on my ovary to remove a huge cyst that had been there for many years now. Only had it done around 4 weeks. But I’m still experiencing pain on my ovary? My gynaecologist said the op was successful and everything’s okay. Just wanted to know if anybody else who had this operation done have pain after a cyst removal? I’m going doctors next week just to double check

It took me more than a month to recover from a laparoscopy to remove a large ovarian cyst. It’s now been 3 months ish and I still get pain on that side. I know the pain is probably endometriosis (as I have that) but I find it strange that it clearly feels like it’s on “that side”. Especially as I have a large cyst on the other side that also needs to be removed! Definitely go to doctor and get help for pain relief if you’re struggling. Also I was told some people take a week or two to feel fine after an op and it takes some people a lot longer.

@PaperLamps thank you for this reply it’s good to know I’m not alone. Yes it’s not easy! However they say keyhole is a quick and less painful procedure but it’s not always the case! How did you get on with the gas? I really struggled with the pain in my shoulders. They’ve told me I don’t have any endometriosis so I don’t know why it’s still hurting, it was big though it was 14cm x

I actually was ok with the gas, which is lucky by sounds of it! I was off work for 2 weeks post op and on reduced duties for 2 more weeks- probably should have had at least one of those actually off, as really was not well. I think the op agitated/moved my endometriosis so I had awful cramps and digestive issues for a month or so after.
