ultrasound

hi guys,
i’m getting an internal ultrasound soon and i’m quite scared. can anyone tell me what this includes so i can kind of prepare myself.

For mine i had to put a gown on and then lie on the bed with feet in stirrups with a cover draped over my bottom half. They used a narrow dildo shaped probe to do the internal ultrasound. They put lube on it to make it more comfortable. They do move it around which can be uncomfortable but not painful. Then I went to a wee cubicle to clean up and get dressed again. They were very nice and as gentle as they could be.

I’ve had loads. Empty bladder, then on the bed with your butt at the end, legs open with a paper cover over you. They pop the very tip of the transducer inside you to scan. It looks like a long slim wand and they put a kind of condom over it for hygiene.

they may ask you to pop your fists under your bottom or press down on your abdomen to get a better look. It takes about 10 minutes all in.

My husband was allowed in with me but this may have been because my scan was related to early pregnancy.
I'm not sure if they use different shape or size 'wands' for different things but the wand they used on me was nowhere near as big as I thought it would be and yes it was uncomfortable but completely fine and no pain afterwards. I would have pain during sex but this was actually easier haha.
I know it's hard to relax when a stranger is touching you down there but try to let your lower body relax and it will be done in no time. Hope all goes well!

I've had a couple, the procedure is as described by pps and l found it totally painless and very quick too. I went on my own but really there is nothing to worry about.
