Spot or something more sinister?

This seemed to start as a spot under the skin, it was white and I couldn’t pop it.
Fast forward a week and I stupidly picked at it and it suddenly grew and became painful. After a week of applying heat now and then, it’s not painful anymore, but it’s still big and noticeable. It’s also white if I stretch the skin.

Any idea if I should worry about it or just carry on with the heat treatment and hope it’ll come to a head.

Is it not a cold sore? Looks painful OP, probably nothing to worry about but best to get it checked out with the GP if you're worried x

Looks like a cold sore to me

I think that looks like a coldsore too. Compeed patches are good for covering them up, stopping them from spreading and helping the skin to heal. Zoviraz cream is good in the early stages of preventing them from progressing/getting rid of them, but I think you're past that stage with this one.

It does look like a later stage cold sore. Dab with lavender essential oil if you have it to hand. Lysine supplements to help prevent / speed up exit. Avoid chocolate and nuts and heat!
