Hi, just need some advice and help really i dont know what to do next
i suffer with PCOS badly & have always been known to have ovarian cysts. For a week I’ve been getting excruciating pelvic throbbing pain and vice pain in my lower back I went to A&e as told to by GP and was referred as an outpatient for a scan which I had today. I got scanned and the lady said my ovaries (well one as couldn’t see the other one), had a lot of small cysts but that wouldn’t be causing the pain. I called my GP as I was in agony and saw a male doctor. He tested my urine which was clear and he said he strongly suspects it is my ovaries and maybe some small cysts have burst. He prescribed me naproxen and said I just have to wait for gynae and endocrinology to contact me but what do I do in the meantime? I am in so much pain flaring up right now. Im considering going private just for some bleeding answers but where would I go? Who do I call that’s private? I suffer badly with PCOS the actual condition as well as the cysts and I do have strong signs of endometriosis such as during periods I also bleed from my back passage, agony with pelvic pain that spreads to my inner thighs etc. what do I do now? Im not getting any answers and waiting for referrals to gynae and endocrinology. In the meantime i have nothing. My hair growth on my face is faster, im very bloated and swollen with redness on my face, and in so much pain. The pelvic pain got so bad it was making it hard to urinate and I couldn’t do number two for days. It seems like im not getting anywhere what do I do now? :(

The scanning lady is projecting her perception of pain onto you. Pain is individual to each person. If you’ve been prescribed naproxen please make sure you also get omeprazole too as it can shred the stomach. It’s a private gynaecologist you need. I’ve got stage 4 endometriosis and it took 15 years and a private gynaecologist to diagnose and excise what they could for me. I’ve lost an ovary and a tube because of it and have future surgery in the pipeline as my bowel and bladder are also affected. 💖
