DC3 was born late December by elective c- section, periods hadn’t returned prior to having the copper coil fitted 7 days ago. Day after coil fitting had slight bleeding and cramps but nothing extreme and seemed to stop within 24/36 hours. Period started 2 days ago but is so heavy that I’m bleeding through a tampon within an hour and having to use pads in addition to tampons. Is this normal? Over night I had an extra heavy tampon and a maternity pad but within 6 hours of going to sleep I’ve bled through the lot. Woke up, cleaned everything up replaced tampon and pad and have completely bled through the next tampon aswell within about 45 minutes. I know the coil can increase heaviness but surely not this much?
