Bartholin cyst?

Sorry if this is TMI but I have never had anything similar and I’m unsure of what to do.

Last night before bed, I felt a little bit sore/tender around the very top of my labia majora and at the top of my clitoris. There was no redness, swelling or lump. During the night, I kept getting woken up by this pain getting much worse (woke around 10 times). Even just having my legs together and my underwear/bottoms touching it was hurting. When I woke up this morning, the one labia is quite swollen and visibly much larger than the other. There is a small lump but it is under the skin between my labia and clitoris, sort of tucked in between in the fold. A bit red in that area too. No spot or cyst to pop. Again, so painful to sit down, lie down with legs together and even loose underwear and trousers irritating it. Painkillers not really helping. I feel tired and under the weather but nothing awful.

I suppose I want to know if anyone has had similar because it’s nowhere near my vaginal opening, it’s the opposite end and there is no pain down there at all. From having a look on Google, this is where the Bartholin cysts are located and where you’d find the large, shiny(?) cyst? It just doesn’t seem to present in the classic way that others describe or its described on the NHS website. Any ideas? Do you think I should see a GP on Monday?

Was your pain towards the top or down the bottom?

Definitely see your GP.

Ive had 2 bartholin cysts - doesn’t sound like that’s what you have purely based on location.
