Balding? Thinning? Cowlick?

hello,
I Have always had thin hair, not very thin that hairdressers have commented but yeah it’s thin. The other day I wanted to look at the back of my head to see how my hair was looking and gasped at seeing quite a bit of my scalp.
I have never noticed anything like clumps of hair or more hair loss than normal. My grandad died last month and I’ve been quite stressed but like I said I haven’t seen anything alarming. I dont have PCOS. I’m only 25 and feel quite upset about it. I remember when I was about 17/18 when I noticed my scalp was visible at the back but I don’t remember it looking like this. The pictures aren’t the best. I had a shower last night trying and tried a new hair mask it’s made my hair look a bit damp still.
could you tell me what it could be?? Is there anything you suggest?? Please be kind I am struggling with a lot right now. Thanks :)

Looks like your hair may be fragile. It’s possible that it breaks off when you put it in a ponytail. Do you take decent multivitamins? I’d highly recommend OGX coconut miracle oil shampoo and conditioner too in order to strengthen hair (it’s only about a tenner for both).

Sorry that you’re feeling bad about your hair. It does look nice and silky so at least there’s that. I reckon you need to nourish it and avoid tight, pulling hairstyles and it should improve in about six months.

Try not to worry, easier said than done, I know.
I would make an appointment to see the GP and have a blood test. Your Ferritin might be low. I believe it needs to be above 70 for hair growth.

I started using a solid shampoo bar with peppermint last year, and I have got so many baby hairs now and my hair has grown about 3 inches around my temples where it had previously been thinning. It’s called Nope. I mean it might just be a co-incidence but might be worth a try!

Edited to add: echoing the pp about ferritin. I take 2 Spatone sachets daily too (obvs spk to dr first).
