I'm post menopause and for the past 6months I've been suffering with what has been diagnosed as 'vulvodynia' - a condition I'd never heard of. I'm on oestrogen creme - twice a week now. I've tried many different cremes - I've got a drawer full including Lidocaine 5% - but I'm still struggling - to sit for any length of time mostly. Any ladies that have this or have had it in the past what strategies worked for you? Cremes, exercises, anything at all. x

Vulvodynia just means pain of the vulva. If the pain is caused by vaginal atrophy, and because you’re post menopausal I suspect it might well be, osteogen to strengthen the tissues is the treatment, with moisturisers and lubes used daily too.
Did you do the loading dose with the oestrogen cream, once daily for two weeks, and if so how was it after that? Twice a week often isn’t enough. Sometimes estring or pessaries used more frequently are more effective. There’s a dedicated VA group on fb that you may find more informative and able to do more research on there.
