If you had haemorroids in your first pregnancy, how were they in subsequent pregnancies?

It took a year for my internal haemorroids to stop flaring up and being uncomfortable, hoping to have another pregnancy in the near future and I'm worrying how bad they will be if I was lucky to get pregnant again.

Any experiences? Did they get worse in subsequent pregnancies? I'm already worrying 🤣

Had really bad haemorrhoids last pregnancy 4 years ago.

currently 32 weeks with number 2 and have had absolutely no problems! Have gained less weight this pregnancy which has maybe helped!

Thank you for replying, this is really good news and so glad you are not suffering.

Sorry if TMI but did you ever get flare ups in the last 4 years? I do occasionally still now 2 years later and so worried I am going to seriously suffer!

Awful haemorrhoids with baby 1, after giving birth they were absolute agony. Virtually none with baby 2.

I cried and cried over mine in my first pregnancy. I had a 3rd degree tear and when I went for my 6w check the dr said 'oh I remember those piles they must have been so painful' They were so bad I was reluctant to have a second baby. My second pregnancy was twins and didn't have a problem at all. I did get piles but nothing like on the scale of my first pregnancy and easily managed.

Oh my gosh these comments have really lifted me up, I really thought that it would be 100% given that they would be worse. Perhaps not!

The first time round I didn't actually know what it was, I left it for weeks before getting medication so at least this time I can treat them quickly if they do show!

Yes I have had quite a few flare ups in the last 4 years although I would say they have got less frequent as time has gone on!!

After an awful time after baby 1 I was determined not to go through the same with baby 2.

I took a ‘shot’ of prune juice every day from about 15 weeks and started on fibre gel before I left the hospital. Whether it was a coincidence or not I don’t know but I was completely pain free the second time.
