Hyperpigmentation?

Hi all. I’ve had this dark mark on my face for around 3-4years and it’s only just dawned on me I should maybe get this checked out. It seemed to appear shortly after having my son. Can anyone say if they have similar and whether it looks consistent with pigmentation? Naturally a bit concerned after seeing some melanoma pictures recently! Thank you!

Hi, looks like pigmentation to me that often rears it's ugly head during or after pregnancy as one of the causes is hormones. Probably you got some sun damage in the past too. If your worried you should definitely see your GP rather than using an online forum for information, but if it were me I wouldn't be worried, as you say it's been there a few years but I recommend you see your gp, easy to get your gp to have a look at this so why wouldnt you. In the meantime You should religiously wear spf 30 to spf 50 every day to stop it getting worse. After you've seen the gp and if they say it's just pigmentation with nothing nasty attached you could try, topical treatments of niacinamide, tramexamic acid, kojac acid, vitamin c, alpha arbutin, tretinoin, retinaldehyde, retinol, licorice, (hydroquinine and tretinoin, that's prescription only. )You can get prescription only online, skin + me for dermatica. It look like you have some round your jaw line too, again spf is a must. Hope this helps. I am dealing with hyperpigmentation but I am a lot older than you and went years tanning and using no spf at all, so only have myself to blame.
