Heavy bleeding 14 days.

I have been bleeding heavily and passing clots for 14 days now. I contacted my GP on day 6 as my periods have only lasted 2-3 days since I gave birth 11 months ago, they gave me Mefenamic Acid which I took for 4 days. The bleeding got heavier and was in so much pain that I returned to my GP on day 10 who prescribed me Tranexamic Acid to take alongside the Mefenamic Acid. They also referred me for a transvaginal scan but that it’s until the end of May.
on day 12 I got a phone call from the surgery to say I should not have been given Mefenamic Acid as I take Sertraline for my mental health and it can cause heavy bleeding if taken together.
Today is day 14 and there is no sign of this going anytime soon. I feel so drained.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or have any advice please?

Yes. My periods have been less frequent but longer lasting with peri. I had a 43 day one which got me a referral to gynae. I have a small fibroid which they say shouldn't be problematic, and it's just peri menopause, apparently. Treatment has been tranexamic acid and ferrous sulphate - because it definitely is making me anaemic, and I am feeling tired all the time, and even in a single flight of stairs makes me out of breath. I'm not superfit, but stairs are usually okay.

I'm 2 days into a new period just now, 2 months after the last one. We'll see how it goes.

Unfortunately, I doubt anything will happen till you've had your scan. Have they done bloods to check your iron levels?
