I was sterilised January this year using filshie clips. It was entirely my own decision and I was 100% happy to go through with it.
The surgery went well. I had two weeks recovery and recovered well surgically.
The only issue is now, is that I have had nothing but pain since.
It's a very sharp stabbing pain. Mostly in my right side, but it does often go to the centre and less often to the left.
It's similar to a sharp ovulation pain, but far more intense or like the feeling of needing a bowel movement on day 1 of a period, but again, the pain is alot sharper.
I've has this pain every single day since and it's at the point where I'm getting quite down about it. Sometimes I can't stand straight.
I have been back to the doctor's twice. The first time I had a UTI and was given antibiotics, so I thought that was the answer... No. The pain stayed.
I went back and had an internal examination, swabs taken, more samples which have all come back clear and normal.
As far as I'm aware, I'm booked in for some type of scan and I've been referred back to gynae.
I'm so fed up now. The pain is sometimes at the point of unbearable.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I have read quite a bit about Post tubal litigation syndrome, but there are alot of symptoms of that which don't match with mine. Many of the symptoms along with pelvic pain, consist of menopause type symptoms, which I don't have.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I never had pain like this before. It's too much of a coincidence that I've only had it since the surgery.
TIA x

I had the clips put on, spring 2012.

I had no idea there were possible side effects but I had a lot of things like phantom pregnancy symptoms despite not being pregnant, happened monthly for about 2 years and I developed endometriosis. I wonder if any of that was related to it.

Could you be allergic to the metal? Have you ever had any reaction to cheap jewellery for example? Google suggests there can be traces of nickel in the clips

The pain was excruciating the night I posted this and the following morning, so rang an emergency number that the GP gave me if the pain became unbearable.
It was at the emergency gynae unit at the hospital, but all the doctor did was exactly what the GP did at my last appointment.
It's much better today, but I can feel a niggle, which could easily lead to a stronger pain.
I'm so over this now.
I'm booked in for a scan... When? I don't know.. but if nothing shows, I will mention the possibility of being allergic to the clips and see if I can have an allergy test.
