Hi all,

I posted about possible perimenopause a few days ago.
I will be 41 this summer and have many peri symptoms. The worst is heavy periods with clots, and now -hurrah- i can add spotting to that (period ended or so I thought but still light bleed/spotting on day 10. Major crankiness&stabbing feeling in boobs a week ago which was new for me (At this time in my cycle I mean, I think my period and ovulation are mixed up this cycle 😆)

Have had gynae check up 5 months ago (transvaginal ultrasound) and negative hpv test in september so peri/hormones are the most likely cause.

havent been on any hormonal BC for 15 yrs as I got depressed on pill and ring, had the mirena expelled (this was horrible with actual contractions until it got stuck in my cervix!)

I thought I would be the kind of woman who would graciously sail through The Change naturally and let my body do its thing, but after being exhausted for at least a year, iron deficient (ferritin came back at 11) and feeling irritable more often than not, that’s out of the window 😆

Where I am HRT is only rarely prescribed (plus i want to save the fight for that when symptoms are getting worse) so I am considering Implanon as a way to regulate the periods and hopefully get a break.

Anyone with (positive) experience with these around or over 40/in peri/as a way to minimise bleeding?
I am dreading side effects but honestly I can’t go on like this either.

TIA
