Private blood tests

How accurate are private blood tests in other peoples experience?
I had some done a few years ago that seemed to come back higher than the NHS ones that were done a few months later. It's put me off having private ones again.
What do others think?

Mostly I've found them useful. But I did have one set there were very raised levels for thyroid. Was retested a few months later by NHS and these test showed nothing amiss. I'm not well though so makes me wonder if the NHS ones were ok.

Loads of people get private medicals under their workplace benefits throigh Bupa or similar providers. They routinely get you to tick a box to agree to share blood tests etc with your NHS GP and anything they’ve noted needs follow up. So unless the GP is in a very deprived area, I wouldnt have thought the GP would find it that unusual.

The U.K. is almost unique amongst the European countries I’ve lived in or had family living in in that it doesn’t seem to offer medicals or annual tests to most patients to pick up issues early. So it’s a bit sad if NHS GPs object to people spending their money on what’s routine elsewhere.
