This is going to be a long one! Last November
I started everi patch. I was also onto two types of antibiotics for a tooth infection within that week I had thrush symptoms. I treated the thrush but the symptoms never went away. I had an inflamed vagina with redness and soreness I went to the doctors in December. I was swapped and then swabbed results Came back normal. The symptoms carried on but they got so much worse to the point that it was burning on the inside and it was burning when having sex and also it would burn when I went for a wee. I went back to the doctors in January. I was swapped again and was STI checked the swab came back bv positive and the rest was clear. I took a course of antibiotics before stopping the course of antibiotics the symptoms returned and then was swapped again and was BV positive agian . I took another round of antibiotics and within two days of stopping them. The symptoms returned. I have recently been swapped again but that has now come back all clear I still have an inflamed red sore vagina, which is now also with a blotchy rash. My vagina is very dry and I feel like I don’t know what’s going on and I’m not sure what to do now. I’m in a lot of discomfort. I don’t know if anyone can please advise. I’m not sure if the patch could be causing the issue thanks

Has anyone discussed probiotics?

Could it be hormones? How old are you

That’s what I’m wondering as this all stared a week after starting the contraception patch. I am 30

Sounds like the patch may have messed with hormones which have messed with your vaginal microbiome. You can try boric acid pessaries, this really helps me with bv which presents for me as dryness and burning. I am now about to do a test of my vaginal microbiome, you can find various options for this online. It’s expensive, i chose a more comprehensive one which is £250, but there are somewhat less expensive ones. I want to know if I need probiotics pessaries or lactic acid pessaries etc and with this test you get a chat with someone to explain it all post results.

I would stop the patch and see if it helps but I doubt it’s that.

Are you still having sex? I would get BV every time I had sex with my ex. As soon as I split up with him I never got BV again.

At one point I had no thrush symptoms but swabbed for it. A soft gel thrush pessary right after the antibiotics helped me.
