Massive clots and horrendous pain were normal periods for me, especially from mid 30’s onwards. There could be any number of causes -hypothyroidism, fibroids, endometriosis- make an appointment with the GP. They should arrange blood tests, do an examination and arrange for an ultrasound, with a referral to gynae if necessary. In the meantime painkillers and ant-inflammatory meds should offer some relief. I hope you feel better soon. Flowers

Could you be pregnant? Are you on your period? Need to know the context of the bleeding, did it start up out of nowhere? If it is persistent and not part of your period with no clear cause then I would be going back to A+E. What was the reason gynae didn't see you?

As PP said, if the bleeding is your period then contact your GP. They can refer you for tests to determine the cause of the heavy periods and potentially prescribe medication to help, as well as refer you to gynae.

Hope you feel better soon!
