Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on these results (I feel like I’m probably asking a stupid question!). I had my smear test the beginning of February which came back positive for HPV with cell changes which resulted in an automatic referral to colposcopy. I was seen at colposcopy beginning of March where she took biopsies. I’ve received a letter today saying the biopsy results show no HPV so I’m being discharged back to my GP and will go back on normal recall for a smear in 3 years. Does this mean my original smear result was wrong? I was expecting to have another smear in a year but now wondering if I’ve misunderstood the nurse!
