Hysteroscopy & Mirena insertion - continuous cramping & bleeding, is this usual?

Had a hysteroscopy, polyp removal and mirena insertion 2.5 weeks ago. I know the side effects are discomfort (post polyp / scraping etc) and possible cramping and spotting / light bleeding.

I've had constant cramping ranging from a dull ache to full on period pain style on a daily basis and continuous bleeding for the last 7 days. I was expecting light spotting but it's more early / mid flow (my periods are usually v heavy so it's light compared to that, but more bleeding than I was expecting - definitely need proper pad etc to deal with it)

Has anyone else had similar? The gynae said it could be 3-6 months for the mirena to settle - I can't put up with these side effects for that long, I feel like shit! Sat here debating whether heavy crampy periods for 4 days out of 28 is worse or better than continuous bleeding and constant low level cramps.

I had this without the IUD. It’s the polyp removal, you’ve just had pieces cut out of your womb! It’s going to hurt for a few weeks. I was ok after 10 days but first few days were painful. Mint tea to help relieve gas and plenty of pain killers and rest.

I had bleeding on and off for a year. It got considerably lighter and now hardly at all. It was all still better than the huge flooding that was happening very month.

I had this - bled for about 10 weeks. Lots at first but gradually tailed off. First month was the worst.

I'm 9 days post hysteroscopy, polypectomy, biopsy and mirena. Awful cramps still and bleeding which settles then gets a bit heavier. Am worried somethings wrong too. , the cramping and pain is worse than I ever had with periods when younger. I'm 55 now
