Anaemia Advice

I got diagnosed with anaemia in the middle of last year due to low iron as I barely eat, but I must’ve had it for a while as I’ve been having this particular symptom of it for years, just wondered if anyone can relate to this and if it’s a normal part of anaemia would be supportive knowing there’s others who experience it.

One of my main symptoms is when getting out of bed or getting up from sitting down i’ll feel extremely lightheaded as if the rooms spinning and my vision goes black, like my eyes are closing, although I believe my eyes are still open. It only lasts about 10 seconds if that, but it’s so bad that I have to lean myself and all my weight against a wall as I feel like I’m gonna collapse. As I mentioned above I’ve had this for a few years and assume it’s from the anaemia, are the symptoms I experience a sign of being close to fainting? It’s never been bad enough for me to faint but this is what I imagine fainting would be like. Hope others can share their experiences so I’m reassured that this is a normal symptom as it can be rather scary.

Those are very common symptoms of anaemia , are you’re taking anything for it? what is the value of your hemoglobin?

It's postural hypotension - which can be related to anaemia. DH has it. He has passed out and done himself some serious damage, so worth sorting out before you do actually faint.

Are you taking folic acid supplements?
