Dull ache 16 to 4 days before period

I've been getting a left sided pelvic ache 16 to 4 days before my period. It comes and goes. Radiates to vagina and bum.

It has been bang on time every month for 3 years. It wakes me at night.
Periods aren't painful and the pain stops 4 days before period.

I went to gynae and was diagnosed with a 5cm simple cyst on the left side which we thought was the cause, but the cyst disappeared and the pain is still coming as usual.

Has anyone had something like this? The symptoms are crazy regular and yet no one can explain why this would happen. It's not ovulation pain as it lasts for 2 weeks. It apparently isn't a cyst. Doesn't seem like endometriosis as the period itself isn't painful!

I have had something similar to this and it was ovulation pain.
you could do an ovulation test and see if it coincides with your pain.

Does it last 14 days though? It's meant to only last 1 if it's ovulation pain.
Also I'm not ovulating - I have nexplanon.

Yes, I have been getting this for a few months.
I have it right now, I'm in between cycles and I have mild pain, like period pain.
Then a tingly/itchy sensation that comes and goes, around vaginal opening and anus.
I've been ignoring it so I don't know how many days it goes on for. I have no idea what it is, I think I need to make an appointment though.

Mine doesn’t last 14 days. Usually only one day at a time but it can be more than once per cycle.
i also get the pain radiating through bum (known as arse javelin for obvious reasons!) just before & whilst on my period.

Yes it's something in that area triggering the nerves. Just don't know why it's lasting for 2 weeks.

Any pain that is cyclical in nature and or gets worse up to and including menses should be checked to see if endometriosis is present. It cannot be ruled out. A laparoscopy is the usual way endo is diagnosed.

Thank you. The problem is it doesn't include menses at all!

This is cyclical pain that gets worse up to menses and the cause has not been discovered yet. It certainly warrants further investigation. Am glad to read your period itself is not painful but that does not mean that endometriosis is not a possible cause of this cyclical pain.

Endometriosis deposits can also trigger the sciatic nerve hence references to javelin arse and pains down the top half of each leg.
