I was wondering if anyone has had dermoid cysts on your ovaries which keep reoccurring.
I’m 27 and have already had two surgeries to remove dermoid cysts on my right ovary (the last one was a dermoid cyst fused together with a mucunous cystadenoma). I’ve been getting pelvic pain and backache for the last few months.
I went to the GP who referred me for an ultrasound. I did end up paying for a private ultrasound 2 weeks ago as the pain was really bad and it confirmed another right ovarian cyst (the sonographer believed it was a simple cyst)
I had my NHS ultrasound this week which shows the cyst has grown slightly in the last 2 weeks and that it contains ‘solid and haemorrhage components’. I’ve had a ca125 test done yesterday and referred to the gynaecologist. As it contains solid components, I presume it’s another dermoid cyst?
Has anyone else experienced this? As far as I’m aware, dermoid cysts are usually present at birth and once removed, it’s very rare for them to return. Any input appreciated!
