Continuously spotting- normal or not?

When I first started periods, I would bleed continuously... or maybe with a break or a week or so?

The docs put me on the pill, prob microgynon? It was about 100 years ago! The pill did mess my head up, but on/off over last 35ish years, I was on some form of hormonal contraceptive...

All through this, I've always experienced continuous spotting/breakthrough bleeding/small amount of blood when wiping after wee (sorry if tmi)

It has been in the past, embarrassing, with partners, but currently single and child free (by choice) - if that's relevant

I've had various tests over the years, nothing ever flagged up, so guessed it was normal/just one of those things

Guess it's on my mind today though as docs want to see me to review HRT, guessing it's because I answered YES to the bleeding question 🤦‍♀️

No, it's not normal I'm sure, but it's normal for me... What do you other ladies experience? Asking you due to the anonymity of the web (and I have no close female friends)

Should I have put NO to the bleeding question? I'm not a natural liar 😳 but I don't want to waste their time anymore about it 🙄

Gargh, being a woman sucks sometimes

Have you thought about a Mirena coil to see if that stops the bleeding?

A coil is fitted ... nothing makes any difference 🤦‍♀️

I think you’re right to answer truthfully regarding and problems you have.

I would also be wanting a bit more investigation into the bleeding problem.

Welp, update!

Original appointment with the nurse then warranted a second appointment and second opinion from the GP …

And then urgent (within two weeks) referral to Gynae for Colposcopy 😳

Nurse and Dr can’t decide if it Ectropian or CIN? (I had Colposcopy about 2years ago for pre-cancerous cells picked up by a routine Smear)

Wasn’t that concerned until I asked the Dr “should I be worried?” and she replied “Let’s get it checked out first” - which has sent me into a spiral of worry🙄🙄

Hospital phoned day after Doc appointment and am being seen Monday week (making me worry even more 🙄)

anyways, thanks for reading. Kinda glad I didn’t lie, and the NHS take it seriously.
