'Lump' in abdomen - Poo?

A few days ago I woke up in the morning feeling bloated (totm) and put my hands on my abdomen to feel a hard lump on the left hand side. I was really scared to touch it much more, tried to put it out of my mind as it was the weekend so no GP appointments. This morning I felt again and it was there again, so I made a GP appointment.

Went this afternoon and there's no lump, nothing to be felt at all by him or by me. I had a bowel movement this afternoon before I went to GP. Could I have felt the poo in my bowel previously? I've never felt this before - is this normal?

It's the only explanation the GP had. Have I spent all weekend worried sick about cancer, when all along it was poo?!

Are you quite slim? And was it a large poop? If so then yes- faecal matter can be felt from the outside but usually in slimmer people or very constipated!!

I'm slim round my waist yes, and I guess I'd eaten a lot of veg as I've been bulking fibre trying to lose weight.
I would feel embarrassed but I'm just so relieved!!

😅 thanks. Well the GP was lovely about it and said I hadn't wasted his time. It's a new one to me though really.

Exact same thing happened to me, convinced myself it was a tumour. Turns out it's literally just poo in the bowel. If you don't carry much fat on your stomach it's easier to see/feel.

I get that often, on the right hand side. Can see it protruding when I lie down. It's usually gas and happens after eating when I'm bloated (I'm in peri and getting more intolerant to things). If you've been eating lots of vegetables that could be it?
