Mammogram anxiety and cyst in armpit

I had my first routine mammogram yesterday and am now feeling anxious about getting the results. This is being exacerbated by the fact that I have a cyst in my left armpit that I completely forgot to mention to the radiographer.

I’ve had the cyst (pea sized, under the skin) for nearly 25 years and had it investigated at the time I discovered it. This is why I never thought to mention it yesterday.

My worry is that I will be recalled because of it.

Should I contact the screening department and ask for it to be added to my notes?

If it’s a cyst, they will be able to tell I think? Did you also have an ultrasound?

When I had a mammogram for lumps they could tell they were cysts (and drained them - it was quick and painless!).

If they recall you it could be because they need to mammogram again as the person reading it might not have a clear view of a particular area. It doesn't necessarily mean that there's anything to worry about. Try not to worry, I know it's not easy.

Thanks both.

It was a routine mammogram as I recently turned 50.
