Hi,

Hoping someone has had a similar experience which ended positively and can help lessen my anxiety a bit!

I recently had an accident and was in hospital. I had a CT scan which incidentally showed up something on my ovaries and a TV/ultrasound showed up a cyst with incomplete septa on one side and a multioculated cyst on the other. It says no sinister features seen within either and all my tumour markers have come back negative but I am now on the 2 week pathway with an MRI and gynae consultation.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? My mind is currently in overdrive and I’m panicking about the worst. 😰

I’m 51, periods irregular but had one in Jan and I’ve been on HRT for nearly 3 years.

Hi I'm getting my ovarian cyst rescanned this week.
I'm 58 and it was discovered after I had bloating constipation etc and DM has had stage 4 ovarian cancer.
My guess is yours is being taken further due to your age like mine.
I was told no tumor markers yet because of my age I get checked every 3 months for a yr.
I will want mine removed if it grows tbh.
Better safe than sorry.
Hope it goes well for you.

I went for a TV USS for another reason and came out with no answer to that problem but with a haemorrhagic cyst on one ovary and free flowing fluid in the abdomen as an extra! They rescanned me in 3 months and it was all completely resolved. Hopefully yours will be as easy x

Thank you - it does help to hear the stories of others. I think my resilience is generally pretty low at the moment Sad. I'm glad things worked out for you.

I had very similar last year, a 6cm cyst showed up on a scan and I was put on the 2 week pathway as my tumour markers were elevated (but they did explain that this can be linked to the cyst itself) and id also had some bloating and pain etc…..had an mri and it’s just a relatively harmless cyst. They scanned me again 3 months later to see if any change and there wasn’t so we’re leaving well alone for now and I’ll have another scan in 6 months.

pretty much exact thing happened to my sister six months ago too, she was also on the 2 week pathway so I think they just jump straight to that when ever they can. Stay positive!!

5 years ago I had an MRI scan for worsening back pain.
My back was fine but the scan showed a large mass in my stomach.
5 weeks later I had major abdominal surgery which included a full hysterectomy and the removal of both my ovaries one of which had a tumour on it which weighed 50lb!
