Hi

so I visited my GP as I’d experienced some bleeding after sex. She examined me and saw inflammation and a “lesion” and acted very concerned, I’m absolutely out my mind with worry (I have had health anxiety a long time) I’m so frightened it’s going to be awful news and that it’ll threaten my life. I had a clear smear April-2022. I do have various endo symptoms which I’ve had for years, does anyone have any reassurance please? I’m so frightened x

Sending a big hug. This could be a polyp and your cervix happens to be inflamed. Ectropion can also cause the cervix to look inflamed. A clear smear in 22 is good. Of course get a closer a look but don’t panic yet x

A nurse and senior nurse practitioner had me thinking my life was over when I went to my smear test. They panicked me beyond belief, claiming there was abnormal growths on my cervix which they hadn’t seen before. They kept asking if I was sure I didn’t feel unwell and took bloods.

I got to colposcopy and the consultant immediately put my mind at ease and said I had a ‘beautiful and healthy’ cervix. What that had saw was an ectropian and natural follicles.

Good luck!
