My periods have been rather erratic in the last few months as a approach menopause. I'm 44.
On Wednesday of this week, my period started unexpectedly and at a really awkward time as I was away on holiday! It wasn't due for another week.
Luckily I had some Norethisterone 5mg tablets leftover in my travel bag from last holidays, so frantically took one as soon as I noticed I'd come on. Took 3 that day, then 3 the following day.. In the hope it would either stop or at least reduce the bleeding. Seeing that the it was too late for the tablets to be making any difference I didn't bother taking any more after Thursday. However, I've been bleeding much heavier than normal ever since.
Have I done myself some harm? My normal period length is between 2 and 3 days but it's now Saturday evening and I'm still bleeding quite heavily. Would this be because of the tablets I took?
