Anyone taking oestrogen-only HRT (post-hysterectomy)?

If so, how much do you take? I use five pumps a day of Oestrogel and no progesterone at all. I was taking a tiny bit of testosterone but was advised to stop this after I had bladder cancer. I'm 50.

Five pumps a day feels like a lot, so I'd be interested to know how much women in a similar situation/age take and how they feel on it. I assume that at some point I'll be told to reduce my dosage, as I get older. Currently my mood is stable and I have no peri symptoms.

The one thing I've noticed since stopping testosterone recently is that I've gained weight.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

I use a patch Evorel 50

I had hysterectomy at 39 and am now 55, I have been on this ever since

doing ok on it I think, no PMT or mood swings that I used to get when younger

I’m on oestrogen gel after a hysterectomy 12 weeks ago (age 49). Currently on 2 pumps a day (started on 1, as advised by gp). Had ovaries removed as well as uterus. I feel mostly okay - it’s definitely helped with brain fog and feeling upbeat and positive. But still getting hot flushes a few times a day.

I only have one ovary. Hysterectomy at age 39. Been on 3 pumps of estrogen, just reduced to two, am now 54. It’s been a rough ride!

Five pumps does sound like a lot. May be you’re not absorbing? I was on 100 patches for a while and had loads of symptoms, seemed I wasn’t absorbing properly, I switched to gel, it’s much better for me. We’re all different

I have just started using oestrogel, (Mirena coil is the progesterone part of my hrt) GP said the dose is between 1 and 4 pumps each day and that most women use 2. I am on two which I think is the right dose, I might move up to three.
5 seems a lot not least to spread on your legs and wait for it to dry.
