Breast lesion/discolouring (picture) anyone had anything similar - mind racing 😟

Found this under my breast around 10 days ago.

I have huge boobs so don't see/look at the underside often (need a mirror!), but was in the shower about 10 days ago and felt what felt like a hair/piece of body puff stuck under there, it wouldn't budge and had a look and think it was a bit of skin that came off. Thought it was perhaps an ill fitting bra has rubbed (but it is about an inch above underwire).

It since hasn't changed/healed any in 10 days, tried a bit of hydrocortisone cream and still no change. No lump.

Drs appointment booked for 4pm this afternoon and suddenly feeling very worried. Anyone had anything similar and what did it turn out to be?

Ouch that looks sore! Did you notice any irritation/soreness moving around day to day? Good luck at the doctors, hopefully it's nothing but always better to be safe.

SpareBoxRoomForEmergencies · 18/02/2025 16:16

Get it looked at, if only for peace of mind and because you might need antibiotics, but it's probably a boil. Boobs are high friction areas with bras constantly rubbing so an ingrown hair or something can easily turn to something like this. That is the most likely explanation so try not to worry but get seen as a priority anyway.

WeAllHaveWings · 18/02/2025 18:00

It's not sore so never noticed it, it could have been there for either months or just days.

Back from docs and she doesn't like the look of it so has referred me urgently to both the breast team and dermatology which is a bit scary. Said currently a 3-4 week wait for both of them for urgent referrals but will ask for me to be put on the cancellation lists 🫨 And to think I hung up twice in the phone queue this morning because I couldn't make my mind up if I was bothering them for nothing and it would heal up itself in time. 🙈

I had a routine mammogram in October which was clear, and she did a breast exam and couldn't feel anything so hopefully she is just be overly cautious, but it is going to be a loooooooooooooong 4 weeks wait!

Also given me antibs.

Need to also come off HRT which I only started 6 weeks ago and has made such a huge difference. Standard procedure if there are any breast investigations apparently. Guess it is back to nights of hot flashes and surviving on 4 hours sleeps again alongside the worrying 😭 Will need to head back to the menopause board for help on that one!

PS. There are some sad creeps out there who private message when you post pictures like this one - mind boggles how people get kicks from a photo like that! (MN have banned the account).

Hey slightly different thing but just to say I was put on the urgent 2ww for the breast clinic after finding a lump on Friday. It's completely normal process and my GP stated that it's standard for her to do with any lumps/bumps so try not to worry. I was seen yesterday privately through our insurance and I can tell you the clinics are a one stop shop where you'll be examined, speak to a consultant, then depending get a mammogram or ultrasound and potentially a biopsy depending on what shows. I had both a mammogram and an ultrasound and luckily I'm fine and likely down to peri. The process was flawless and I believe the NHS breast clinic in my area run in the same fashion. Everyone was lovely too as they understand how anxious people are. Anyway it was just to say try not to worry. Vast vast majority of time it's nothing suspicious. Wishing you the best.

Thanks @cbar123 I have been to the breast clinic before when they wanted to further investigate something that showed up on my first routine mammogram and I had the whole biopsy experience then (all clear). You are right, they are all lovely and supportive and that time it didn't really bother me (until they said they wanted to do a biopsy there and then!) as I knew it was routine and first mammograms frequently had recalls as nothing to compare with.

This time (MN has removed the picture for some reason) is feeling very different, I am usually very good at compartmentalising and putting worries like this away in a box until I need to worry about them, logically I know it is probably the HRT and my hormones playing havoc with my emotions and I am catastrophising instead! I've had sore boobs the last few weeks since starting the HRT and keep prodding both to see if one feels more sore/or differently sore from the other one! 🙈 Need to go find a big box 📦 to put those worries away in!

@WeAllHaveWings yes I put things away in a box as well as I knew it was out with my control. Perhaps the boob change is the HRT too? Mine was likely due to hormones/peri.

Have you considered private to get seen quicker if feasible, maybe that would then help your mind rest abit.

@WeAllHaveWings after the recent posting of horrific CSA images on MN, the decision has been made (by MNHQ) to not allow any pictures of bodily parts that could be construed as encouraging unwanted posters. So no more pictures of boobs or fannies or dicks!
