PMS rage

In the days leading up to my period I often feel a bit grumpy. However on the day it starts, I find myself flying into a rage over everything. I have zero tolerance- noise, mess, backchat. Everything gets met with me shouting like a demon. My poor kids bear the brunt of it. I always apologise but I don’t think it’s good enough.

Is this worthy of a doctor‘s trip? Or are there any natural remedies that actually help? I hate being this way every month.

I could've written this - interested to see if any posters have any viable recommendations x

I found that switching to a higher fat diet helped. Where I am doctors will not prescribe HRT until you have tried alternative therapies and failed with them. Their recommendation was a herbal supplement but I found this book by Elizabeth Bright, who argues that women need to consume more dietary fat in order to produce and regulate hormones, and it works for me. No more rage, also a lot less anxiety.

I can recommend the book if anyone wants to check it out, and also she gives talks on health podcasts if anyone wants to take a look (WOMEN & GIRLS NEED ANIMAL FAT with Dr. Elizabeth Bright, YouTube, with Dr Ken Berry).

Best of luck.

Thanks, I’ll look into higher fat diets.
