Period Concern

I'm 38yo. Since early 20s I have been regular as clockwork, every 28-29 days. January period was as normal.

In January I was sick with probable flu (no GP appointments available to comfirm, but I was very sick, had a temperature for 12 days and still have some lingering tiredness).

I get a coldsore each month 3-4 days before my period. That came as normal this month, but 10 days later and no sign of period coming.

Is this illness related? Age related? (No chance of pregnancy, as I've been single and celibate)

I had Covid in the summer and my next period was delayed and then it lasted almost 4 weeks before eventually stopping. It went back to normal after that. Viral infections can definitely mess with your cycle but if you’re concerned then maybe see your GP in a couple of weeks

Thanks for the reassurance. Period arrived today, unexpected and heavier and more painful than usual. I'm praying I don't have your four week experience..!
