Bleeding between periods, painful sex & bloody discharge

I've posted before but didn't get any answers.

I have since gone privately and am awaiting a hysteroscopy at the end of the month but I have questions so just want to know if there's anyone else that has been in the same position as me?

I have been bleeding between periods since last July. Can be once or twice a month and it will be heavy. Sex is painful too and I most of the time have bloody discharge afterwards.

I have been scanned internally, swabbed and examined and all came back clear so the NHS discharged me with NFA.

Any ideas? Has anyone experienced this? Any help or advice is welcomed as it's really making me so anxious and getting me down now, it's been so long.

I've had similar with the bleeding but no pain after sex or discharge. I just had an ultrasound which came back all clear. The doctor thinks it could be my contraception, I was on mini pill for ages and never got any periods then suddenly started with heavy and irregular bleeding. She said sometimes it can change like that so I have stopped taking it and she said if that makes a difference they will try me on a coil, if it doesn't make a difference she said she will refer to a gynaecologist.

Can I ask how old you are? I am 41 so thought might be perimenopause related but doctor said I am too young.

Also when did you last have a smear? That was the first thing doctor asked me.

My daughter ( 21) is going through the same, scans have shown nothing, coil hasn't helped. We were really hoping for the coil to make a difference as it was amazing for me. She is now on a gynae waiting list, but I'm sure what else will be offered.

I'm 28 and had my last baby in 2023!

My last smear was 2021 so not sure when that is due...

Are you on any contraception? I'd push your GP for a referral to a gynaecologist.

ive been having bleeding issues for the last 5 years, it’s draining. Bleeding between periods, sex so painful I don’t even bother anymore. Sometimes I bleed for weeks.
1was given an internal ultrasound- nothing found.
-had two smears which were fine.
-trialled the pill- made It so much worse
-had a hysteroscopy which came back normal
-coil fitted two years ago- still bleeding

I have an ablation booked next month but I don’t have high hopes x
